Cerritos, California, January 30, 2014 - California Nanotechnologies (“Cal Nano”) is pleased to announce the appointment of Dr. C.C. (Cliff) Bampton to the Board of Directors of Cal Nano.

Since the completion of his PhD in Metallurgy at the University of Birmingham (UK) in 1975, Dr. Bampton has specialized in advanced material development. Over the last 39 years he has made significant contributions to the aerospace industry while employed with major corporations including Pratt and Whitney Rocketdyne (formerly Boeing-Rocketdyne) and Rockwell International. His achievements are evidenced by the fact that Dr. Bampton has been awarded approximately 15 patents and has published over 38 peer reviewed technical articles. “During these endeavors, Cliff also worked with and provided critical support for several small maturing businesses and thus, is well suited to contribute to Cal Nano,” stated Christopher Melnyk, CEO.

Dr. Bampton will receive 100,000 incentive stock options at a price of $.075 CDN per share as compensation for joining the Board. The options are governed by the company's stock option plan approved at the last annual meeting on October 18, 2013 and as such vest over three years and are exercisable over a term of five years. All options offered by the company are subject to TSX Venture Exchange (TSX-V) approval.

To meet the growing demand for Cal Nano’s advanced powdered metallurgy processes two additional production oriented staff have recently been added to the team.
